In selecting and appointing a new chancellor, Georgia and Ukraine PNU carefully considered attributes and qualities that resonated with its vision and mission to become “the university shaping futures in the service of humanity”. There was consensus in selecting His Excellency Dr Reza Almasi, an outstanding Iranian entrepreneur .

Prof Reza Almasi wants the institution to reclaim its space as an innovative leader in distance and open education, and make sure the university contributes to goals on sustainable development. Explaining his vision as Chancellor, Prof Almasi says he intends to ensure that GU PNU does not only become a centre of excellence, success and opportunities for the marginalized, but also a lever of optimum participation in the global knowledge arena with impact.
